Beetle Identification

Beetles range greatly in size, color, and even shape. In general, most beetles have a broader, bigger, shelled body with a tiny head. Most come in dark colors like black or brown, and they may have a metallic sheen. They also have wings, but they are not good fliers; these are more for protection than actual flight. 

Similarly to ants, most beetles live outside and will come inside to forage. However, if an environment is appealing enough, large swarms of beetles will set up residence inside. Aside from scavenging for food, they may also gnaw on fabrics or wood. Outdoor beetles can wreak havoc on gardens and other vegetation, so even if they aren’t inside, they could still be causing trouble around your home.
